What do I need to do to transfer into CoE from LSA?

Hey... I'm about to start in LSA for Computer Sciences and I'm thinking about trying to get into the CoE for it eventually. Does anybody know how hard this is? Do ACT scores matter anymore (I took mine in 2006 and they weren't the greatest due to me not giving a ****)? Do they look for extracurriculars or is it mostly based on gpa or numbers?

Anything you recommend me to do to make myself look better for getting into CoE?

Scott, ACT does not go beyond college admission. I think the requirement is to simply take the prerequisite courses and attain a certain GPA. You can find out more with this link: [Michigan Engineering | Admission Requirements](http://www.engin.umich.edu/ugadmissions/transfer/requirements.html)

The GPAs on that page are just for transfers from other universities. I think the requirement is just a 2.5 to transfer from LSA to CoE.

I had a couple of friends who transferred into COE from LSA, and it doesn’t seem too difficult to do. They just had to take the required pre-reqs (Math, Physics, etc.), EECS 153 or ENGR 101, and English. They also had to write a short essay about why they wanted to transfer in.

Thanks for the responses guys, much appreciated. So would it be considered easier to get into CoE for CS (From CS in LSA) than say getting into Ross for regular admission?

I was thinking about trying to get into Ross, so being involved in extracurriculars seemed like an absolute necessity. Is this different with engineering?

Yes, ECs are more or less irrelevant for engineering transfers. Focus on having the pre-reqs done and getting decent grades.
