What Do I Need? (UCSD)

<p>Hey! I'm really stressing out about my chances into ANY UC... but mostly UCSD. I am retaking SAT I's, and French and Math level 2 for SAT II's. I was wondering what I needed to score in all of those in order to get into UCSD with my current stats:</p>

<p>GPA: 3.75 (combined from Sophomore and Junior year)</p>

<p>(In case this affects anything...)
SAT I: 1690 (not too proud of it)
SAT II: Math II: 710</p>

<p>ECs:
President of a YMCA service club
ASB - Secretary of Press
ICB (ASB of YMCA clubs)
3 Years being in the School Newspaper
3 Years of French Club
3 Years of Math Club
3 Years of CSF (California Scholarship Federation)
2 Years of Badminton
1 Year of Robotics
1 Year of Key Club
Class Committees (Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior)</p>

<p>Combined total of Community Service Hours will be 100+ (I need to calculate it all). Services were in a variety of places (Schools, Hospitals, City Hall, etc.)</p>

<p>Major: Engineering (Preferably Aerospace Engineering)</p>

<p>Around what score should I attempt for in SAT I and SAT II?</p>

<p>a SAT I of 2000 is preferred for UCSD. if lower, better make it up with an exceptional GPA and EC. your math SAT II is good for UCSD, make sure the french is around the same ballpark.</p>

<p>is that weighted or unweighted gpa? i'd say it's a good reach once you raise that SAT score up a bit.</p>

<p>I live in california. The GPA is weighted with one AP class. Thanks a lot everyone, I feel a bit more confident now.</p>

<p>I don't think you are a very strong applicant, maybe shoot for a lesser UC. UCSD is a REACH for you. Your GPA is OK, a little higher than colleges will see it because it's weighted, probably more near a 3.7, but your test scores aren't in the ballpark. What is your class rank? You may want to try the ACT if the SAT doesn't work for you.</p>

<p>Well I'm signed up for SAT I's in October and November. So I have 2 more chances to get 2000.</p>

<p>I'm determined to get into UCSD, I just need to know how much more I will need to get accepted.</p>
