I’m sure there must be a section for this in the Common Data Set. Between Median Pillow Fluffiness and Snoring Yield Rate.

Probably not nude. I wouldn’t plan on wearing anything less than a T-shirt and shorts, at least not when you first get there.

do people sleep shirtless with boxers?
What is most common?

Do you mean in shared dorms?

I guess it depends on the kid. Some kids are “hot” when they sleep so they prefer boxers and a T shirt or no shirt. Some get cold and may wear those long flannel pants and a T shirt.

I guess that those who might be sleeping with a SO might be in their birthday suits.

First of all I’m curious why you want to know? I know that whether or not I’m in on my own or with a roommate I’ll be sleeping with boxers and no shirt… It’s how I sleep now and I’m not changing haha… Then again I don’t get out about stuff like that you might get a roommate that asks you to do differently I guess? weirded

I don’t know about the specific schools you mentioned, but I most commonly see guys sleeping in a t-shirt and boxers or sweats, depending on the temperature. Maybe no shirt when they’re actually in bed.

lol…Wow, I wasn’t expecting to see this topic.

Are we talking about a shared dorm here? Nude could make for a bit of awkwardness between you and the room mates…I see nothing wrong with sleeping in boxers and no shirt though. If boxers feel too “revealing,” invest in a few pairs of nice comfy basketball shorts or something similar.

When I transfer to UofI, I’ll be living in an apartment, or possibly sharing an apartment with someone…but still with private bedrooms…so nude it is!!

lol@mmmgirl This really should be on the common data set for ALL schools.

hmm - mascot costumes to stay warm during winters?

white t-shirt and blue boxers.

yes i was talking about a shared dorm

Probably not nude, unfortunately :p

See section ZZZ.

This thread is too punny.

I’m actually serious, I know it sounds like a silly question

Most guys fall asleep drunk with all their clothes on. If they are lucky they make it to the bunk before they pass out.

Seriously, it is not what you wear, it is what not to wear. Do not wear pajamas bought by your mother under any circumstances. Never wear pink to bed. Do not sleep with stuffed animals. Give the teddy bears to your girlfriend. Do not sleep in underwear that you have worn for more than 5 days straight. Do not borrow anybody’s sleep wear.

In winter wear a sweatshirt and sweat pants if it is below freezing. In summer or any other time, a t-shirt and boxers are fine. Pajamas are OK if you must. Just make sure they do not have action characters on them and that they are UTILITARIAN. If a lumberjack would wear them, I guess it would be OK. Nude is crude and no one wants to see it. Tighty Whities are years and years out of style. If you think it will embarrass you don’t wear it.

how many people sleep shirtless, is it common in a boys shared dorm?

I would never even really consider sleeping with a shirt on. I don’t know that it’s “common,” but I can’t see any reason that it would be considered “weird.” If someone is uncomfortable seeing another guy with no shirt, that’s more of a reflection on themselves than anything else. There’s no reason that it should be considered “weird.”
