What do most of you do the day before the SAT?

Whats the best thing to do the DAY before the SAT, on Friday. Something to maximize your score but not lose any confidence.

Ideas?

Anybody have any ideas?

I go over strategies, and do a timed practice for each type of section, and look over emergency essay topics but mainly relax and get a good night's rest--no more cramming.

I've thought of whether or not it's a good idea to do those timed practices--what if I mess up big time? and then get down..but I figure that it's better to get warmed up and in the zone so that the formats, time pressure...don't seem that foreign the next day. I even know someone who does timed practices the morning of the test, so she can flex her brain muscles and break the ice ahead of time.

I suggest reading sth like the newspaper the morning of the test or doing a quick 5 minute freewrite so you don't freeze up on the first section, the essay.

I got sick with strep so I stayed home. But if I were you, I would go over your vocabs, push back your school work, find past essay prompts and come up with a thesis and three examples for each, browse the web, and maybe look at practice tests.

For the PSAT, I did some sentence completion questions when i got up to take the test. Since I was feeling so miserable on my SAT day, I didn't do anything in particular.

How about this.... I have important tests in school next week. So I will be studying the whole weekend for the tests and the SAT. Then through the week, I will wake up like at 5:00 (Too early?) to study for my tests, so I can be in a good mental state in the morning.

As for the last day, well I just hope I don't lose confidence, but I think I will do some practice and review strategies. Wake early and do some practice early.

Other ideas?

More please?

i literally did not do anything sat preparation related the day before the exam.
the best thing to do is RELAX, sleep, catch up on some current news, and make sure you know the route to your sat test center.
good luck!

Thanks for the advice. I'm probably just going to come home, relax, possibly do some light homework and then sleep at 8.

Play video games, go out, stay up late, etc.

When's the best day to take a final practice test? Two days before?

About a week or two before the exam.

I don't recommend taking practice sets day before/of the test. If you hit a hard set of questions, you will go into panic mode... not good. If you want, review a set of questions you've done before, but don't overdo it.

Oh wow; I was planning on taking one Thursday. What can I do to keep the stuff fresh in my head? I don't want to go in rusty form not doing any practice for a whole week.

So is it best to retake a test? Or does that give you false confidence?

I have been practicing from the P.R. book for the last two weeks (Only prep I really had) and I took a test out of the blue book today and got a 2010.

Math: 760 (-2)
Writing: 650; Essay: assuming a 9
Reading: 600

My January Scores:

Math: 670 (I skipped like 2 questions too, dumb Proctor ended too early)
Writing: 620; Essay: 7 (Worst Essay I ever wrote)
Reading: 570

I am hoping to get these as my March Scores:

Math: 770+ (-2 a nice curve?)
Writing: 690-700 (Try to get a 10 on the essay and get like -5 on MC)
Reading: 630 (Here I know I can't prepare very much with the amount of time I have left, SO, I would be happy with a 630.

^Possible?

bump, bump.

PSAT experience: full-length real practice PSAT gave me false confidence - I fell from a perfect 80 on writing to a 70, and my math and reading were also lower than my expectations
SAT experience: just chilling, looking over a few strategies, and brainstorming topics for the next day helped me a lot - my CR (easily my worst subject) - raised by around 70 points with little other preparation.

Yeah, that seems the best thing to do at this point. I have like four tests this week. Hardest being Physics, so I will have little to no time to prepare. So, I guess I will do like two sections or something leading up to the test. Then on Friday, just review strategies, essay topics, and I will do a few sections. I WILL not take a full length test the day before. Good Idea? Or no?

ON the day before the test,i just relaxed, watched some movies and played FIFA on my PS3...

Question: I've completed 7 of the 8 BB tests. Would it be a good idea to take the last one tomorrow (Wed.), or would that be too close to test day? I feel like I should take the last test so as to get the "complete" BB experience, but maybe I should just do a couple of sections on Thrusday and Friday...

i go to sleep early so i can wake up early so i'm not late for the test and i'm as relaxed as possible
