What do most students at Emory major in?

What are popular majors at Emory?

Pre-med (bio, chem, nbb, anthropology), business, polysci, psych, history...I'd say those are the biggest. Music and area studies (Latin American, Middle Eastern, etc) are also becoming popular. Foreign languages are common minors, as are religion and philosophy.

I applied as an engineering major to Emory ED. Does what major you declare have an effect on your admission?

Emory doesn't have an engineering program. They offer a 3-2 program with GaTech but why spend an extra year in college when you don't have to? I can't understand why Emory would be the top choice of a prospective engineering major.

you do not declare a major upon applying to the college. it really doesn't matter what you put down on the application and most people don't declare a major until sophomore year. no worries. but emory doesn't really have much for engineering unless you do the duel program with tech.

do many people major in english in emory?

Yup. I checked the updated tour guides' stats yesterday and English is one of the top 10 majors, as are sociology and international studies. So I was pretty close. :-)
