What do Parents do on Move-In Weekend?

. . . and Cosar, I'll be flying in and using the T so I'm not a roadway hazard during my therapeutic cry on the way home!

Does anyone know if students participating in Pre-Orientation (FUP, FOP, FAP) can move into their dorms Friday night?

FAP participants move in on Friday afternoon and are back to FAPping Friday night. They're being told to avoid claiming beds or floor space until the others arrive on Saturday.

I believe the FOP kids can't move in until Saturday.

Right, because they don't get back until the afternoon. In fact, FOP moves in after most people, actually.

The best thing to do if roommates are in various prefrosh programs or not, and there is concern over how to layout the room is to decide via-email before move-in....like who's going to have the single first or whatever. Most people have a good idea of room layout before they arrive, anyway.

do our parents HAVE to come? i mean mine probably won't regardless, but I'm wondering if there's anything they might HAVE to be there for. btw, my aunt will be there since she lives close by and she's taking me shopping too!!

Parents do not have to be there. If your aunt can take you shopping for items you might have forgotten or decided to buy on the spot, that is fine. Some students, in particular internationals, arrive on their own and do fine.

When do room assignments usually get mailed out? I know they say "mid-August" ...
