Aside from "extracurriculars," what does everyone actually do on a weekend? I mean, as a senior, I have homework/SAT's/college apps to worry about, but that's just tedious work. Most of the time I'd ride my bike or fool around online, and then it's back to work and feeling empty again. Does anyone else have the same feelings?

Now that I think about it, I used to spend my weekend mornings at swim practice and afternoons at orchestra, but I grew tired of doing that and stopped. I do have hobbies, but staying at home most of the time really leaves me feeling down. Should I do some volunteer work? Go watch a movie with friends? Any suggestions?

I volunteer every weekend and it’s pretty fun. I have like…15 shirts from all the events I’ve gone to. Join a volunteer club at your school and go with your friends.

Other than that: Friends. Movies. Books? Sports.

I think that both of those ideas are good:) I don’t know if this would apply to you as well, but volunteer work always makes me feel better:) ^I second reading books as well:)

How do you find these events? I’ve been to one cancer walk thingy but that’s because my teacher told me about it. And I got a free shirt too, haha. I’d love to do more, because I need community service hours to graduate and it’s pretty fun, lol.

But weekends … I do nothing productive. Usually hang out with friends at their/my house, watch movies, parties and all that. And then Sunday night I do my homework (or the period before.) Oh yea, I have a huge family, so it’s usually always someone birthday or some crap like that. Tons of family parties. :)

smiley, I’m in my school’s Key Club. They have like 3 events every week. It’s usually fairs or marathons :]

Interact, rotary club, etc. It’s hard to find events by yourself, so that’s why I joined a club. We even go downtown to plant flowers every once in a while.

Movie/eat/smoke weed/drive around with friends on friday and saturday, do all my homework on sunday. Or on this particular sunday, cramming for next week’s SAT.

Study and do short, “one-room” reads on CC as a break from studying, along with my urban forums (only 5-10 minutes at a time, though , and I’m an urban activist)

My school’s Key Club is a big joke - nothing ever happens. I wish I could get more volunteer work in. I hate sitting home every weekend and feeling worthless. I need to seriously get out more…

I watch movies a lot with my friends, sleep, go to my job, write some college essay bits, eat dinner with friends, sometimes party with friends…

As a senior, I have determined weekends are for fun. screw homework.

YOU’VE NEVER HAD IN N OUT? You have not experienced life. Drop what you’re doing, take a plane to California and get a double double animal style with a strawberry shake right now

Strawberry shake? That’s a terrible suggestion, anywhere you go. But In 'N Out is pretty awesome. Be sure to eat there at least 7 times while in California. The burgers are pretty good for a cheap fast food chain.

I have no clue what IN N OUT is. We don’t have those in Indiana. But on the weekends, I like to sleep a lot. Hang out with friends, go shopping, read, and typically attend debate meets on Saturdays.
