exeter is definitely NOT abercromie heaven. You see people wearing Aero more than abercrombie. Also, J Crew is (from what I hear from the perfect one) what a lot of people wear.

I own a few clothes from Hollister. I like them. But I’ve never really gotten the whole abercrombie/hollister scene. I mean like their stores are like dark mazes with so much perfume you think you lose a few brain cells. And they advertise with shirtless guys yet they sell clothing…? okay?

I think we can wear whatever we want as long as it looks nice. Hopefully Exeter has no wars over clothing.

Gymboree and the children’s place…jk :)

Well… I go to Exeter… and…
YOU CAN DEFINITELY WEAR JEANS. Jeans are basically the only pants I have.
Guys dress code: Collared Shirt and Ties. Sweater optional. And If you forget your tie, some teachers have ties in their rooms. Some send you back to your room [no matter how far it is]. DON’T forget your tie. Polos count as collared shirts. Pants, as long as they’re not ripped, it’s fine.

Girls:
Basically you can get away with anything except for wearing T-Shirts or low-cut shirts or having shorts too short. Shorts length: fingertip length. Also, sweatshirts preferably off, but I’ve gotten away with wearing a sweatshirt for most of the day. Also, addressing the Abercrombie question, I wear a lot of Abercrombie/American Eagle. It’s fine. People here tend to lean more toward J. Crew, Lacoste, but meh. I like Abercrombie better. ^^

Seriously, you can still pull off your own style with the Exeter dress code. It’s NOT as strict as Deerfield. >.<

Also, earrings on guys are FINE.

ok well is choate like that? kinda preppy RL and J-Crew, banana republic? can u wear jeans at choate?

How strict is Exeter on the whole fingertip length shorts and skirts? Like can I just wear my normal kind of really short shorts?

dress code always depends on teacher…

some teachers are chill and don’t care what you wear to class, other teachers will “code” you and force you to go back to your dorm and get changed…

the majority of faculty voted to get rid of the dress code, but the student council decided to keep it…

I am glad that the student council decided to keep it. I honestly wish it was kind of stricter. I really think it is beneficial to learning when you have to wear something more “professional” looking. Of course, this comes from a girl who has gone to private schools with uniforms all her life, so I just like it! I like that we can wear jeans I guess… as long as they have to be dark wash and no rips :)

I think the only thing my son will have to get used to is tucking in his shirt.

Will there be a reason for him to bring a sports coat?

Here is something I found on youtube that I initially thought was a joke. Once I realized that it was seriously the title of a designer’s line, it was even funnier.

Oh yeah haha I know dsquared! Best name ever right?

Does everyone dress like vineyard vines, roberta freyman, lily pulitzer? Or can I also wear things from Urban Outfitters, American Apparel, Topshop?
