So i was thinking about becoming an accounting major, just like numerous people in my family are, but i was wondering, what do they look for in admissions?

Top 2%, although there are a few exceptions.

Oh gosh…thanks for getting me scared. >_> I’m nowhere near the top 2%, so can you please elaborate on the “few exceptions?” I would very much appreciate it.

I think Windowbob is referring to receiving admission into McCombs. Before the Fall 2012 admissions process, McCombs “automatically” admitted in-state students based on class rank. McCombs began with the top 1% and cascaded down. After 750 or so slots of the 1000 of the incoming class were filled, the rest of the applicants were reviewed holistically. Thus, his reference to the top 2%. That was about the lowest rank for “auto” admits.

As for accounting, or any other business major for that matter, after you have completed Economics 304K and L, Math 408K and L (Calculus), and BA 101, you may designate any business major you wish to pursue.
