What Do They Teach You In AP Computer Science?

Hello all. This might be in the wrong thread, but eh.

I’ve been battling to get into an introductory CS course at my university. It’s a nightmare- around 180 students on the waitlist for two offered lectures, which are full.

For those who had it offered at their school, what exactly did y’all learn in AP Computer Science? I never even knew that was a class until my first month of college, but I’m super curious right now. Did they focus on a specific language? Were there labs that the school would let y’all use, or did you need your own computers? What did the AP test compose of?

Shouldn’t really be any of my concern as I’m not in HS anymore, but I’d still appreciate any info on it. Thanks!

It teaches the fundamentals of java and OOP, delving slightly into some algorithms and efficiency. My school had computer labs loaded with an IDE and the case studies.
