im in honors chem this year. i have the option to take the SAT II chem in june, or should i take ap chem in junior or snr year? i was planning on taking ap bio next year, since i might major in chem in college so i would rather take the actual intro chem course anyway.

you could take the chemistry sat II with sufficient knowledge just by taking honors chem. i think the test is much different from what you will focus on in ap chem, but idk. really you just need the basic knowledge of the subject and then apply good test taking strategies to do well on the test.

I honestly don't see why you can't take both SAT II chem and AP chem, preferably in the same year. It might actually be helpful having SAT II chem and AP chem both in May (June is when the summer bug bites you and you start forgetting everything, so my advice is keep it before that) since some of the material in the SAT II will broaden your understanding for AP, and help you snag those little detailed MC questions. Still, try your honors class out, and if you feel you can perform adequately, go for it this year.
