haha I think it’s funny and cool. Not a fan of anime myself, but in my area a lot of teens are into it. Don’t quit.

Omg Im in the same situation but I don’t really care if anyone asks im pretty open about it see nothing wrong(I watch it when im bored or have some free time)…heh
We should start an anime section on CC for the heck of it lol

I love anime, and I am 20 well 20 in 4 months. I am also going to be a senior in college. I dont rily care, what people think about me anyways so it doesnt rily matter. I can’t judge my social life, but I am happy with it so thats all that counts—dont rily care if people think i am cool or not

I’m an extremely open-minded person, but even I find cartoon porn to be just plain strange.

From a dude’s perspective, I wouldn’t think less of another guy because he likes anime. It’d bug me if he was constantly talking about it, or could never hang out because he had to catch up on new episodes, or anything like that. Everyone has hobbies, and nobody should have to hide who they are for the sake of having friends. If people can’t deal with it, do you want them to be your friends?

(Of course, I could see where a girl may be turned off by it. But again, I’m not a chick, so in that field, I wish you the best of luck!)

Are you kidding? Our college has Anime and Manga classes listed under Asian Studies. I’m a girl that cosplays too. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it.

I had to look up what this “cosplay” is. I’ve never heard of it before.
So if I understand, people dress up like Sailor Moon and pretend to save the world from evildoers?

Yes dressing up, no pretending, generally.

I know good looking guys with decent looking girlfriends who watch anime. One of them even cosplayed as a ninja. I’m not sure if they get laid, but they could if they wanted to.

I know a guy whose girlfriend watches hentai with him. They’re both pretty cool, although a bit eccentric. When I went to an anime convention, there was an all-night hentai showing, there were quite a few girls there and everyone making jokes and having fun. It’s not creepy like people think it is, it’s like real porn, but with cartoons. I don’t understand how people can get off to cartoons though…

Cool! Which ones? I’ve been meaning to watch some, but I never get around to it. I have moved on to Japanese movies and books though. I used to be obsessed with Digimon as a kid, but moved on to other Asian stuff in general.

Im an 18 year old girl and i watch anime sometimes. I’m certainly not addicted but if i happen to catch it on tv i’ll watch. I actually think anime is kind of silly now that i’m older… maybe you just need a little bit longer to mature

if you like it or not the most important thing to remember is NEVER DISCUSS IT EVER TO ANYBODY NEVER EVER EVER!!! then it won’t hurt your social life.

I’m a 17-year old girl and I love everything by Hayao Miyazaki. Literally, I’ve seen everything he’s produced.
My friend and I also both like to watch Naruto.

anime is for children, when teens watch it it’s weird, when adults watch it it’s creepy

^ I can’t imagine Death Note or Grave of the Fireflies being for children.

i don’t see anything wrong with being a college student who likes anime. plenty of my friends, both from high school and a few i’ve met in college, love watching dbz, naruto, etc. in fact, most of the people i know who like it are girls, so there are definitely girls out there who won’t think you’re weird for liking this stuff. even i’ve gotten into anime a little bit lately, despite thinking it was weird when i was younger. Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke are actually two of my favorite movies now. :)

There are lot of cartoons aimed towards adults: King of the Hill, Futurama, Family Guy. It makes sense that there would also be Japanese cartoons aimed towards adults as well.

I doubt Crayon Shin Chan is an anime for children, if it is, one might as well call Wonder Showzen a kid’s show. Kid’s Show was going to be the actual title too lol.

I can imagine Death Note or Grave of the Fireflies being for children, but precocious and extremely mature children.

There’s nothing wrong with liking manga/anime. I love it too. I read manga more often than I watch anime, but I do both weekly for the series that I follow.

There are thousands, if not millions, of people that like anime/manga in the world. You’re not alone.

See if your college has a Anime/Manga Club or a Japan Culture Club or something. =3

well when I hear an 18 year old guy who likes anime, I think, super cool! I love Anime too, so that’s totally hot. lol (

“You will never have sex.”

That’s a silly assumption. My boyfriend is the president of his school’s anime club, and I’m friends with a good number of other members, and there is much sex being had in the lot.

There’s a difference between watching a couple episodes after you’re done with the things you need to do, and walking around in a “I <3 Hentai” t-shirt spending all of your time locked in your room with no company but your sexy cartoon ladies. If you’re hoping to get random booty at parties, I might not talk about how much I love Naruto, but odds are if you’re compatible enough with a girl to have a relationship, she’ll understand if you happen to like to watch a particular genre of show.

Heck, if anime is a big enough interest of yours, an anime club can be a great way to make new friends who might have similar interests and personalities. Of course, this depends on the club. At my boyfriend’s school, most of the members are really funny, cool people who happen to like anime and meet once a week to watch it together. One of my friends from said club who is a transfer said that at her previous school, she did not attend the anime club because they would screen hentai and she was a little weirded out by it, so it varies.

Also, ladies who like anime would probably think it’s awesome that you like anime, too. It’s just an interest. The people who judge you because of it are the immature ones, not you.

So you are going to live on campus, a guy with a girl roomate. Is that something your school set up? Mind saying which school?

By the way, my family LOVES Spirited Away and Kiki’s Delivery Service.
