I want to explain the differences in education on my application somehow. I am going to explain to my GC soon and have it in my recs. So should i put in on the additional info/explanation on academic record? Which would be more credible? Should i have it on both to emphasize it?

Bump Bump...

i think the reason why no one has answered is because no one has any idea what you're actually asking. No offense, but please rephrase/elaborate.

oh sorry :) i'll restate it.

well to make it short i came from korea and there's a different system there and less access to ECs. So should i explain that on the explanation on academic record because i have no honors (all regulars in korea) in fresh and soph year? or should the GC explanation do? Or should i put in on both?

I think the GC explanation should be enough.

the GC is the better source to explain any discrepancy. Colleges don't want to see whining or excuses. I'm not saying thats what you're doing, you're simply providing facts the adcom is unlikely to know. But thats always better when it comes from a perceived neutral party (eg. your GC) than from you. Same story if you're explaining you're dip in grades in 10th grade was due to your mom's extended illness and you taking care of your siblings, at the hospital, etc. People will give you lots of allowance when the GC writes it as an explanation; whether fair or not, if YOU write it then it will seem like making excuses.
