Do we actually have to buy the textbook? Required materials on Cal bookstore site say "Biology (Looseleaf w/ eLab Manual - Custom UCB)" for Bio 1A. What does that mean? Is the elab for 1AL? Do we even need anything for lab?

bump. sorry but I want this answered!

I think this elab is new… which is why we can’t answer your question. It probably is for 1AL.

Bio 1A has readers with slides/pictures the professors follow. The Campbell book isn’t that useful. Mastering Biology is not necessary at all.

Bio 1AL has a lab manual and a reader with slides, past exams, printouts of all lab worksheets. You’ll need all of these (except maybe printouts if you want to print them out yourself)

Thanks a lot for your help!

How useful is the textbook for 1AL? I bought the 7th edition to save some money, does this suffice?

Does anybody know what store sells the reader for 1A lecture?

1AL doesn’t really require the book.

They’ll let you know where but I think in the past it was replica copy or something on oxford next to ben/jerrys

how do we study for this class. so hard.

we’ve only had like 1 class and you’re already saying that? :(

it’ll only get more difficult.

I didn’t understand first lecture… = =

Anyone understand what the hell was going on today? Like I don’t understand what to do in the class…do I just sit and listen? Take notes? Like all the stuff he refers to is in the manual…???

I’m so confused about Bio 1AL. He uploaded so many files on bspace that I have no idea if I should print it? Will there be a lab quiz on the first lab?! Dang this class is gonna be tough ****s.

yeah, for real. so many random files all over the place…it’s so disorganized.

Dood *** yea…
AND are we suppose to print the lab manual or something…? what the heck…
