What Do Ya Think?

I'm just curious, what colleges would be interested in my stats? I want to do AFROTC and fly for the Air Force after college, but I'm still not for sure on that. I want to get a degree in Engineering so I can one day go on to be a test pilot; either way, I want to fly (Civilian or Military).

I was accepted to the Air Force Academy's Summer Seminar, and will be heading out there this summer.

I've been looking at UMich - AA (#1 choice), USAFA, MSU, UCLA, MIT(a reach, I know), UIUC, and Purdue. What does it look like for me? Also, please offer up some other colleges so I can check those out too!

Also, I may possibly be running track in college. I have recently been trying to get recruited to do the high jump for some top schools such as UM, USAFA, and MSU. Anyone know anybody on the track and field teams at these schools?

Thanks!

you definately have a good chance if you apply earlier. And uiuc has a sweet aviation program though :)

wowwwwww.. those are some pretty impressive accomplishments.

if you can convey all of that imformation clearly in your apps, you can get into some top notch colleges. by the way youre a junior right?

you should definitely broaden your college choices. you can do better than MSU, UCLA, UIUC, and Purdue. You should look at school like Berkeley at least. reach for Stanford and Caltech, what can it hurt. Seems like youre emphasizing your search on the school's engineering programs, but you shuld also look at how good the school is overall, unless all your looking for are engineering classes to attend PERIOD.

Yes I am a junior. Wow I thought I'd have tough enough time making it into UM, let alone other tough schools. It's so hard to find a college that fits me. UM just feels like the best.

yea i wasnt even counting on getting to UMich, but for different reasons. not because i thought it was too difficult, but because its about the same caliber as UCLA which is MUCH cheaper for me (cali resident). its funny because i didnt get into UCLA, but i got into UMich (for which i sent in the app a day late).

i guess UMich saw something in me the UCs didnt, and im grateful it turned out that way. After visiting and throughly researching my schools, id choose UMich over the rest - and i have, and am proud to call myself a UMich Wolverine.

btw i was admitted to the college of engineering. had a 3.6 gpa, 2190 SAT, good number of service/extras, athletics, etc. so you should have a good shot. then again i had 24 semesters of AP classes, so i dont know how much they emphasize on curriculum. you should talk to your couselor to help match you up to some schools.

gbb,

Wow! 12 AP classes! I can't even imagine. I'm happy with the 4 that I'm gonna' have when I graduate. I'm just debating if I should retake the ACT and go for the 32-33.

I would definitely retake the act if I were you. Not sure when the last time you took it was, but even if it was last saturday, you still have almost two more months of school/studying to prep for it. Besides, colleges only see your best act, so you might as well.

Alright I will see if I can take it in June. I thought my 30 ACT would be high enough to get me in for in-state, but now I'm having second thoughts.
