What do y'all think about mentioning projects "in the works"?

For example, I am taking gr 12 drama next semester and the bulk of class time is spent directing a one act play to present in a one act play festival to the public in January. For additional info. pertaining to a Drama Club EC, is there any merit in saying "currently writing, producing and directing one act play "insert name here" to run in January at local theater festival"?

The above is my own personal example, but what do you guys think about mentioning things "in the works" in general on the common app? I mean, it's not our fault that stuff happens after application time!!

bumppppppppper

I think big projects like that are worth mentioning, even if they’re “in the works”. Just as long as there are other impressive things on your application that were accomplished before the application was sent.

In addition, I’ve read that it’s acceptable to email admissions officers with any major updates after your application has been sent. Since your play would be running in January and most applications are due January 1, you can describe in your app your progress so far, and email the admissions office a couple weeks later with a brief update of your success.

^ Ok, yeah I forgot about being able to send updates to admissions! THanks dude.
