What do YOU consider a good SAT score?

I'm surprised I haven't seen a thread like this yet.

As most us know, CCers have very high standards when it comes to academics, so I think it would be very interesting to see what we consider good SAT scores.

So here goes: 2250 for me.

For me or in general? I feel as if many people who were born in suitable-learning environments could get 1600-1700 if they studied and/or cared and/or read often, but I set high standards for my own score (a typical-to-mildly-subpar CC score) and would be impressed with anyone who beat my score (though not by much, since it’s just another test; think ‘video game high score’ kind of impressed).

2000+ and I’m impressed.

2100+ and I’m pretty impressed.

These opinions are probably skewed based on our own results though

2250+. 10char

I envy those with 2200+ :), though hopefully I’ll be able to join the ranks come November.

Good? 2100+
Great? 2200+
Excellent? 2250+
AWESOMENESS? 2300+

2300+

foo.

Giving myself something to strive for, I’d say 2300+ is good. :)

but seriously… 2200 is 99th percentile, so kudos to that top 1%.

2100 and even 2000 are still great scores. People in this range should be proud of themselves, comparing themselves to the national average, rather than the outrageously high CC average.

A 2350+ would be a “good” score probably both for the applicant and the admissions. Applicant can apply without stressing about scores and the admissions can consider other parts of the application in more detail.

2000+ – “Well done!”
2100+ – “Super! You’re getting there.”
2200+ --“Now you are talking.”
2300+ –Speechless

well said itsmylife99 but i would consider 2400 to be speechless.a 2100 as good score.
here is a good page that i found while googling about sat scores [AVERAGE SAT SCORE](2022年世界杯买球(中国)官方网站)

Wow with all those scores you guys think are good, I don’t want to tell you mine :(

I’m generally impressed by scores 2300+ but scores 2200+ are still very good.

2000 - Study some more
2100 - Good/average
2200 - Cool/above average
2300 - NICE/You’re set for Ivy’s.
2400 - ____ /godly

(speechless at 2400)

I’m aiming for Ivy so standards must be high. It depends on what you’re reaching for.

^i like how 2100 is “average” when it’s like… The 97th percentile.

I know, very ridiculous. Anything above 2000 is going to get you a look at any school in this country and anything above 2200 is all the same.

1600-average
1800-nice
2000-smart
2100- wow!
2200-WOW!
2300- Genius

Except for the best schools in the country.

A “good” SAT score for me would be 2270+.

I never knew 2100+ was 97 percentile o.o
I’d definitely be okay with a 2100 then, even though my parents and teachers are expecting way more out of me. I guess 2200 would be a great score; 2300 would be the equivalent to 5 doses of ecstasy. I heard some schools filter students by looking at their SATs. For example, XYZ U screens all students with SATs under 2100 without even looking at their ECs, background, essay(s), etc. After looking at many, MANY chance and admission posts, it seems that if you’re gonna get into Stanford, Harvard, Princeton, Yale, etc., you NEED 2300+ and a HUGE list of great ECs or a very enticing hook with far-above average stats (~2000 SAT, 3.8+ GPA).

2000 = “Wow. Good job.”
2100 = “Simply Brilliant man!”
2200 = -drools-
2300 = “*** BRAH!?!?!?”
2400 = “Hey man, I got a 2400 on the SAT.”
“…” -faints-

But seriously, you guys do realize that most people don’t even come close to a 2000? I don’t understand how a 2000 is a bad score. And, uh… YOU CAN GO TO A REGULAR STATE SCHOOL AND STILL HAVE A SUCCESSFUL LIFE.

Just saying.
