I try to read and then when the lights dim out, I just wait it out and think, think, think
And what about lunches? Do you hang out with friends, go to the library and read, or surf CC? :p

We don't have assemblies anymore because people would just leave school, instead we have tailgating parties in the parking lots w/ food and bands and everything =]].

During lunch I hang out with friends outside between schools because our cafeteria is too overcrowded. In the winter, we sit in the halls.

Assemblies? That's when I head out to McDonalds. Lunches? Auditorium to hang out with friends... The cafeteria is for losers; I haven't eaten there since junior year.

-The Winning Coot66

PS Yay! I'm officially a Member!

cheer on the school, because i'm the student body vice president, and i sort of have to. haha.

I have fun with friends.

Teachers and administrators usually patrol up and down the aisles making sure you're not doing homework while you're supposed to be paying attention to whatever's going on up front. And I don't know how you guys leave school during assemblies... Our assemblies tend to be one period long, and they're usually during the middle of the day (except for pep rallies, which are always at the end).

So, for lack of any other options, I actually pay attention and listen.

I help plan them & run them, because I have to :P

since assemblies are always "don't do this", "if you do this, you die", "if you think of doing this, you DIE"...they're beach days :)

pep rallies; go crazy for whatever event's going on. then go out and pre-game for it.

We had one assembly this year. It was basically the principals telling the senior class what not to do at prom and graduation. My friends and I were cracking jokes about the principal the whole time.

Rallies are always fun. Kind of sad that theres only like one more left.

leave school

ah yes, there was this one time, an 9th grade "you're in high school now - here is what you should do" assembly - where me and my friends all made snide remarks as to how pointless the assembly was. Oh, and then we talked about SimCopter and various computer games. That was so fun. :p

too bad I pretty much split up with that social group - and ended up coming here for socialization (and since I was more academically ambitious than the others)

I go to the library and read or do homework.

Am I the only one here who watches assemblies? :\ Feeling so uncool :o

freshman/sophomore year i went to all of them, but every year we have the same:

-walk in and it looks like Sr pictures...then you find out that they died of over doses..."they knew how to do drugs and they died"...when you take 15 percocet with half a bottle of everclear you're kinda not doing all too hot.
-"if you have sex, you'll get a STD(I) and die"
-if you do a SR prank, you won't walk, won't get out early, have to take exams...

They usually don't require you go to assemblies.

Sometimes they make us go to pep rallies. In which case, I just skip.

If its a senior run assembly I usually MCing the assembly or have a big part so I get everyone amped. If its underclassmen, I sit in the bleachers and make fun of them/boo. As for lunch me and my friends have a table in the cafe.

Let's see here...here were a few of them...

During the big class meetings my friends and I usually would either have really quiet conversations or we would do homework (often as a group, especially math).

Some of the assemblies I videotaped during my senior year because I would air highlights on the announcements for the TV class I was in. I also skipped the prom assembly altogether (because I didn't go) and instead roamed the hallways with freshmen and sophomores. I would also head to the comp lab during some of the more pointless assemblies where I knew we couldn't talk or get work done (those big loud anti-drug presentations) and would basically do something like write an English paper.

At college it's been even better. I bring my laptop and play blackjack.

On the few occasions of an assembly, I go only because it is usually during 3rd period or during the middle of the day. I just sit there and watch, but normally with my friends so it isn't that bad. We normally just talk or whatever.

During lunch, well I EAT. I mean it is lunch, I don't do any homework during it, I EAT and talk.

I watch it, like you're supposed to. Or I fall asleep and I dream about a happy place. Like Stew's cute warehouse smile.

i can't remember the last time we had an assembly. in our big auditorium...homework, or tic tac toe, or whatever. our smaller theatre makes it really hard to get away with anything, though.

at lunch, i sit with friends in a random nook where there's a couch and table and eat/go outside when it's nice.
