Usually I've been able to use a cycle of several lterary examples on practice essays varying from Scarlet Letter to Huck Finn to Catch-22 to Mockingbird to Farewell to Arms. What do you do when you get a question that won't let you use literary examples? Any suggestions for what I can add to my list? I think that one reason why literary examples are better to use than other types is simply because they are easier to write about than others in a scholarly manner, even easier than historical (I tried writing about Rosa Parks but it backfired).

one interesting fact i ve observed from ccers is that most of the sat takers here only use examples from american literature...]
think about it, american literature is only one little portion of the literature of the world
there are numerous other splendid writers, such as Byron, Milton, Eliot, Shelley, Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, Goethe, remarque, hugo, voltaire, balzac, Beaumarchais,li-po, et cetera. Really, only using american lit examples on your sat essay will clearly expose your narrow reading field--only restricted to your classroom, for most juniors take american lit..
