What do you do with a "D"?

<p>DS1 got a D in one of his required technical courses (ChemEngr). Is he allowed to retake the class for a higher grade? Does it make sense to do that?</p>

<p>His advisor has not been very helpful (she isn't a professor - just an administrator). I think it would be better for him to talk to an ass't Dean or higher level professor for advice. He says he has to go through the advisor for everything.</p>

<p>If the class is required, he MUST retake it… a “D” in engineering is failing. If he’s a freshman he can exclude the grade from his GPR.</p>
