What do you feel are my chances for college

I want to go to top league schools like Harvard or Columbia
But I'm doubtful :(

Please be honest and let me know what you think my chances are :

GPA: 4.2 on 4.0 scale (we get AP classes weighted)
I go to a prestigious school recognized by Newsweek as the "Public Elite" but none of my other scores really reflect that :'(

I have a good ranking :) amongst a class of over 1000

I haven't gotten any 5s on AP Exams- just a scatter of 4s and 3s =(((
I don't get why I didn't get a 5 in AP Bio. I was a Biology Olympiad Semifinalist o_o

My SAT Score is 2070 but I am retaking it to hopefully score higher.
I got 800 on Math II and Chemistry SAT IIs.
I have good extracurrics - President of some Clubs at school that have been recognized nationally

By good ranking, I hope you mean top 10% or higher?

You need a 2200 or higher if you want to be a serious candidate for admission.

Great job. Unfortunately, not rare among Harvard and Columbia applicants.

Unfortunately, not enough info here to accurately chance you. What’s your race/ethnicity? What state are you from? If you don’t have outstanding essays, I doubt you’ll get in unless you can raise that SAT score at least 100 points.

Yep I’m ranked 2nd in my class

The guy who is 1st got a 2400 on the SAT but I feel as though my test was a fluke :(

I got a 36 on the ACT

But like I have 3 3s and 3 4s for AP Exams which really worries the crap out of me D:

Race: Asian
State: NY

I hope I can write great essays

You need to be a little more specific to get a more accurate “chance”. I’m shocked about the AP Bio score too but just get 770+ in Bio SAT II and they can see you are still good at bio. Also the qualifier round to get to semifinalist was pretty darn rigged (I think i got semifinalist solely on luck of the draw). How many APs did you take? I would definitely get that SAT to at least 2200-2250 (my goal for the same schools).

We can’t really chance you unless you provide some more insight as to what ECs/clubs you were a part of. SAT II’s are great, but your SAT/AP scores are not going to reflect a competitive applicant at either of those schools.

I took 3 APs this year - US Bio and English.

ECs/ Clubs I took Part in:

Columbia Science Honors Program (I took nanotech and physiology)

STEM at CCNY

Weill Cornell HPREP

NBTC at Cornell

Volunteered at Local Hospital

Tutoring

Sci Olympiad Pres

School Paper Editor in Chief

NHS or national honor society
