I'm trying to get over the shock that I will only have 4 classes as a college student and they do not meet everyday. What the heck am I supposed to do with all my free time?

EVERYTHING. DO EVERYTHING.

I generally use time between classes to do one of the following:
- Study.
- Do homework.
- Meet up with friends.
- Go help out with stuff for a club I’m in.
- Go to my lab and help with some experiments.
- Nap.

I’m assuming you’re living on campus, right? If so, think of it as a break between errands or something. You’re just chilling at “home” and can do whatever you would normally do… just with more stuff around. If you’re a commuter, then you can use it to be social around campus. Make some friends without having to stay until 9pm.

some things I’ll be doing:

-schoolwork
-lifting
-chilling
-guitar, hopefully start a band
-hopefully get a research position
-clubs, robotics and soccer, maybe something else
-attend sporting events/lectures/concerts

Most colleges have tons of stuff to do, but most of you’re time you’ll likely spend just hanging with your buds doing whatever comes to mind.

I sleep…

Homework, socializing, work out, volunteer, sleep, eat, etc.

Laxin’, being a laxbro, laxin’ (some more), and just bein’ a bro. It’s not like I go to library and study or go to work in between classes.

Trust me, it’s not as much free time as you think. Freshmen year I also thought, “Wow, only 4 -5 classes? I’ll have so much free time!” But every class had a lecture, recitation and lab, so I was in class 25 hours week. I also had a job on campus for about 12-15 hours week. Many students have a job or internship, some people volunteer, some people play sports (intramural), people are in clubs, people have friends and hobbies and go out. I don’t know anyone who just lounges around their dorm all day.

Yeah, you might find yourself sitting around a little during your first week or so, but after that you will have no problem filling all of that supposedly “free” time. Seriously, sometimes I don’t know where half my time goes…and I’m not talking about studying/homework/extracurriculars.

I do try to schedule naps. Man, I love my naps. There’s nothing like the promise of an afternoon nap to get you through three classes in a row.

When I have huge gaps in between classes on the same day I choose to stay as to keep my parking spot. Sometimes I’ll immerse myself in a book underneath the shade or nap in my car and listen to radio shows.

But when it comes to having a day or two between classes, I’m all about GTL baby. That’s the situation right there.

Just don’t waste time in your dorm. College is too awesome to spend half your time on a computer or reading a book.

Add more classes while they are easy into. classes. Also, you might decide to minor in something, and it would be easier for you then.
I might even look into changing your schedule. It is nice to have a break between classes, but hours between classes can easily be wasted time where you have plenty of time to eat a really long lunch, but not enough time to take a nice nap.

I think most college freshman:
- sleep
- eat
- goof off
- maybe a small percent study.

I liked to go to the library, since it was quiet, had A/C, and was not usually crowded during the day.

on a couple days i dont have a ton of free time , but on tuesdays all i have is a 10-11:30 class. thats gonna be nice but i just hope i dont waste it all. i have 3 mwf classes though which i wasnt happy about, and one of them is 8 am. but i get done at like 1:30 every day but thursday so thats nice

Study, nap, eat, talk with friends, browse the internet, etc.

Mainly sex.
