or, "drunk at the frat" if we all end up at dartmouth. I prefer my vision of the future, frankly.

I'm pretty conservative, but I mean, I know Ann Coulter's a bit over-the-top. I personally love the people who claim people who listen to her (or any other big mouthed politician with radical views) shouldn't be taken seriously. People who make statement aren't backing it up with evidence nor are they making any leaway for negotiation or debate. This is why our country has become so divided.

People go, "oh s/he is ridiculous so i'm not going to listen to anything that comes out of his/her mouth." This is followed by a "oh, well you listen to so and so". If people debated more civily and with better arguments than name calling, America would be much more efficient and more people would look more positively on politics.

I think Arnold is would be a great President. Seriously, he's been a Godsend to California, but I believe one of the reasons he has done such a great job is that he doesn't have to worry about offending anyone for later on in his political career. He went into the job to try to be governor of California, not to reach a platform from which to launch the next phase. I believe the best lawmakers and politicians in our country are the ones that focus on the job at hand and don't give a rat's-a** about how their action is going to win more votes or cause the public hatred (well, there might be a problem if it causes that much anger... lol).

I'd say Gov. Bill Owens would be a cool candidate, as would Sen Frist or Sen Santorum.

Sen. Frist and Santorum... Excuse me while I gouge my eyes out with rusty broken spoons.

Bill Owens would have trouble his own state...no way he'd make it through the general. The best bet the GOP has is McCain, who is too old and has too much baggage, or Guliani, who won't make it through the GOP primairys (a pro gay-rights, pro abortion-rights New Yorker in the South Carolina primary.....it'll be like watching a cowboy getting torn limb from limb in a bull fight).

The GOP has nobody. I mean nobody.

As for the Dems...we've already hit rock bottom...so we got nowhere to go but up.

Possible pairs for '08:

Frist & Santorum
Frist & Giuliani
Frist & McConnell
McCain & aforesaid candidate

Clinton & Gephardt
Clinton & Reid

Either way, Clinton WILL NOT settle for VP. She'll get a moderate (Gephardt) to help her image or a weak-kneed socialist (Reid) to be her flunky.

Kerry is toast. Edwards is toast. Dean is definitely toast. Kucinich is.....well, he's Kucinich.

Jeb has little chance. McCain is almost a lefty...
McConnell is Majority Whip, so he might give it a go. Also, Trent Lott could end up as a VP on the ballot.

Who knows? I can't wait =P

especially the presidential election, if anything it might affect Congress's election in a minor fashion
[/quote]

Congress' approval rating currently sits at an efficient 34%.

And the day Rick Santorum gets even more power than he already wields is the day the Second Civil War is declared.

Bring it on Xanatos! lol

There's nothing more wrong with Santorum than Harry Reid.
There's nothing more wrong with Ann than Hillary.
There's nothing more wrong with Lott than Kennedy.

It's fair & balanced like Fox. haha

haha i like that! " Kucinich is....well, he's Kucinich". and nicely said Ivy (gosh, conservative too?)

If the Dems could somehow get McCain on the ballot, wow. Errr, I have issues with a Clinton/Gephart ticket. I just don't see them making a sway, but you know, the election is a couple years away. Who knows what will make it sway the other way.

I don't think another Bush could win for awhile, and def not Jeb. But his son George P. Bush, well, he should be a force to reckon with as soon as he gets old enough. He's Hispanic, extemely smart, according to my sister "very attractive", and he's conservative. The only problem is that his name is George Bush. Hopefully, he'll learn to cool his mouth (us latinos can get a little hot headed every once-in-a-while, but is it just the Bush in him), but I'd love to work on a campaign with him. He's got force.

To quote Maddox,

Bill O'Reilly gets a major chubby every time he says the phrase "fair and balanced." That's my theory anyway, otherwise he wouldn't say it in spite of the fact that FOX News' slogan is: "we report, you decide." I love that slogan, because it makes me feel empowered. They report, I DECIDE! Wow, it's almost as if I'm being reminded that I still have the capacity for critical thinking, but only insofar as I tune into their network for the delightful and not gruesome Gretta Van Susteren. Here's a quick question to the executives at FOX News (because I know you *******s will eventually read this): why do you keep calling yourselves "fair and balanced?" Shouldn't we DECIDE whether or not you're "fair" and/or "balanced"? Is it even possible to be fair and unbalanced? Just let it go, it's not witty, it's not clever. It's not even catchy. Let it go.

oh well...
at least it's not CBS. Uncle Walter and Dan are terribly biased.

O'Reilly is conservative, but he is also uber-letigious...he wants the law to handle everything (because that's what his idealistic profs taught him at Harvard), and the Schiavo case is a perfect example of how the law is terribly flawed.

Xanatos, Congress's approval rating has never been good. Everyone hates Congress. Even I hate Congress.

Anyway, if you can say that my opinion means nothing because I listen to Ann Coulter, then I can say yours means nothing because you quote Maddox. If ever a whiner jerk ever came on to the internet, I have yet to find him.

Anyway, a woman is dying. Let's show her some respect, for God's sake.

And subpoeaniang (however it's spelled) her soon-to-be corpse is NOT a way of showing respect.

Does anybody think its funny how Americans hate Congress but love thier Congressmen and women.!!!

its actually a well documented phenomenon, they like their congressman because politicians tend to run "against" washington in favor of the constituents. Thus, people think that politicians are serving the voters interests while congress in general is bad. Also, its hard to hate someone who does a lot of casework for you

I don't like my Congressman, representative or senate. So...yeah.

Who do you have...Rep. Isreal...Rep. King...Rep. Bishop

I can' imagine you likeing either Isreal or Bishop. Both are pretty liberal!

And you DON'T love Hillary...how suprising!

LOL

I love Hillary!!!

semp, if you're a woman i forgive you. if not, well... Jk

as I said before

The woman is clearly a socialist with a well-hidden agenda....but everyone has an agenda...

kb, I have Israel. I went to a forum with him the other weekend, and he was just this pandering slob. Yuck.

I've got Charles Rangel (i live on the upper west side of NYC), hes the best the region has ever had
