What do you guys think about the Schiavo Case?

Do you guys think that Michael Schiavo would be so insistent on getting the tube removed if he didn't have 20 million dollars waiting for him?

(hides face and prepares for the wrath of CCers)

I could listen to Charlie Rangel's melodious, yet jarring baritone anytime. Ahhh.

As far as Micheal Schiavo's ALLEGED life insurance policy..it is irrelevant to the question of whether the courts were correct in ending her life prolonging measures. I don't care if the man will inherit the State of Florida.

All the same, Michael Schiavo would have simply divorced the woman had he not been interested in her money. I mean, what's it to him if her parents are willing to take care of her?

Her $10 million life insurance policy (**with the *double-indemnity clause for "accidental death" is mighty appealing for an unsympathetic, controlling whore of a man.

Suppose he were removed from the life insurance policy altogether? He would then say, "If her parents want to take care of her, stick the ******* tube back in....what do I care?"

And that's my take...

-H2O-

awaits the caustic words of Xanatos

lol. wait, so is it $10 million or $20 million... not that it's gonna make much of a difference.

If there was an insurance policy, the insurance company would be right there with the parents trying to keep her alive. I have not once heard the parents or the lawyers mention an insurance policy.

Where is this misinformation coming from?

There is no insurance policy. It is a myth.

I can't predict the future so I don't know what Michael Schiavo would do if there was a $20,000,000 policy, and seriously, if even Anne Coulter doesn't mention it in her essay, I really think it doesn't exist, but regardless, the question isn't whether or not he's an opportunistic scumbag or he cares for his life. The bottom line is that I feel that someone in Terri's condition shouldn't be kept alive if the only thing we know of her wishes seems to indicate that we wouldn't want to, and there is no hope of recovery for her, which clearly seems to be the case. This isn't about Michael's personality, this is about Terri's life, and attempts to discredit his attempts to end it as self-serving really don't apply. I mean, if the courts knew that he was going to get 20 mil if she died they would rule differently?
