<p>UCF superscores the SAT (not sure about the ACT), meaning UCF will take your highest score in each section of the SAT, if you took it more than once.</p>
<p>I think you will need a minimum of 500 on each of the SAT subsets to be considered for admission. So prep and retake. If you are around 450 each or 1130 total, it can be done.</p>
<p>Actually, UCF accepts either test- SAT or ACT. I regret not taking the test early Junior year and waited till the last minute when I wasn’t even prepared for it. What I plan to do now is to take the next ACT and send in what I have. I really can’t send in the SAT scores because it’s really too low. </p>
<p>From what I heard, the ACT is easier, but the time crunch is its down point. Some people can’t work fast, so they prefer the SAT, but while it tests you more on reasoning, ACT tests you more on knowledge, or what you already know. I have weak points for both tests. SAT- I definitely did horrible on the vocabulary portion of the test, and ACT- Science. </p>

<p>For people that has a son/daughter/relative, can you tell me a little about their stats and what year they applied?</p>
<p>I’ll try to give a little of my opinion based on the information that youve given. I think your grades are good and if you can raise them a little bit, even better but I do think theyre competative enough for general admision into UCF. Your test scores should definitely go up a little more. A friend of mine scored a little over 1000 with just reading and math sections, aka out of 1600, and got deffered and i think then denied. It really is a little late to look back and regret not taking the tests earlier but thats ok, you improve which each time you test and have plenty of time to study. I don’t know what your financial situation is but you should take as many tests as you can, you can keep sending in test scores for the rest of the year. The last tests that UCF will take are the December SAT and ACT. I think your extra curriculars give you a good edge to balance out your academics so hopefully with a slight increase in test scores you should get in with no problems. =) </p>
<p>If you’d like I can give you my stats but I think theyre pretty high and rly wouldnt be a good measuring stick becuz you can get into UCF with a much lower GPA and SAT combo than i had =/</p>
<p>My D had similar stats to you. Weighted GPA of 3.5 (according to UCF, her high school was recording it as 3.95), and SAT scores of 1020/1600. She was initially deferred after applying at the end of August, sent in packets, letters of recommendation, follow ups- no change, then reapplied for change in term from Fall to Summer Session , new SAT scores (around the same time) which raised them only 30 points to 1050/1600 and was accepted 10 days later at the end of December. Take a prep class for SAT/ACT, or as soon as school starts, ask a teacher to help tutor you. Hope this helps!</p>

<p>Alongwait, so do you suggest I apply for summer term instead of fall? I want the vacation so bad, but it’s definitely not worth giving up the College that I want to attend.</p>
<p>Like some on here have said, they may just offer you summer anyway if you apply for fall. We felt that time was slipping away after being deferred for a few months and didn’t want to take the chance of being denied any longer. When you reapply to change terms, it asks for a brief statement why. D told it like it was…she wanted to get her foot in the door and that by starting in the summer may help to make the adjustment to the college and campus easier. Within a short time she was accepted. Perhaps that may be a way to do it…</p>

<p>I’m in-state. I’m afraid that my SAT scores are too low so they would just send me a rejection letter. I emailed one of the admissions counselors and she also told me to apply early, and they would just defer me until I bring the scores up. What do you guys think? I will be getting my ACT scores around late September or early October if I wait and take the ACT. I’m in a sticky situation.</p>
<p>I only have a 910 combined Reading and Math for the SAT (all because I wasn’t prepared at all). No more time to re-take and send in applications early though =/ I’m just so afraid of being rejected if I send in what I have now.</p>

<p>Wow, they’re probably going to be a lot more selective this year. I don’t know what to do now. I feel like I won’t make it. As of right now, I’m asking some teachers for letters of recommendations to weed out the best ones to send in. (I know some teachers that copy and paste the same letter for every student.) </p>
<p>So this is the problem. Apply now and send in the low scores that I have, or wait to take the ACT and send in the score? What do you guys think is the best?</p>
