II's: USHistory-800, BioM-700, Lit-670
AP's: 5, 5, 5
GPA: 4.29w, 3.9uw
Rank: 5-6 ish out of about 350
School Type: Blue Ribbon, pretty decent public school in NJ (10 this year went to ivies...more to really good schools)
SR year courses: ap stat, ap calc ab, ap lit, ap envisci, band (4 years), ap spanish 5, international business (stupid requirement!)
Talents: piano 11ish years, clarinet 5 years (area band member soph year), uki folk dancing 13 years
EC's: member of CYM/UAUA 13 years, JV tennis 9&10, varsity tennis 11 (probs 12....county champ @ doubles = 1st team all county), JV winter/spring track frosh year, Varsity track (both seasons rest of the years; 1st & 2nd team all county, county & league champ, 1st team all league, placed in state sectionals, coache's award), interact club (treasurer since soph year), peer leaders 3 years, NHS (11&12), NSHS (10-12), i feel like theres more but i cant remember.....hmmm
Other: no legacies, not the first to go to college, i hate the sats and will probs. retake, i was indoor track captain jr year, and my sports have not allowed for much time for volunteering or jobs, although im getting a job at delia's, i attended summer@brown after my soph year, i am sure to have excellent rec's and i can write beastly essays, so no worries there :D</p>

<p>schools: brown, gerorgetown, tufts, and princeton (these are all my top TOP schools...and i know i dont have much a chance at princeton [or any of these schools for that matter] but the father doesnt know that and wants me to try anyway hahah)</p>

<p>thanks for your time :D</p>

<p>Georgetown and Tufts are low reaches.
Brown and Princeton are high reaches. </p>

<p>Your SAT scores are too low :( 640 Verbal needs to be a tad bit higher. Math too.</p>

<p>Good ranks and the sports/music is impressive so those will definitely help. However, you could definitely improve on your verbal score since that's below average at some of the schools you are applying. I agree with aquamarinee that Georgetown and Tufts are low reaches and Brown and Princeton are high reaches.</p>

<p>By the way, care to chance me? <a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=363142%5B/url%5D"&gt;http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=363142&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p>

<p>It's probably a good idea to bring your dad up to speed on the realities of getting into top colleges sooner rather than later. If you go to a competitive school in NJ, you probaby have a counselor you can have him talk to.</p>

<p>All 4 of those schools are reaches IMO without 200 more SAT points. Even then the pool of talented kids from NJ applying to them is enormous.</p>
