What do you guys Think?

Colleges:
Reaches - Harvard (For kicks), Stanford, Brown, Columbia, MIT, Caltech, Cornell, Darmouth
I think I can get into: UC Berkely, UCLA, Johns Hopkins, Carnegie Mellon
Safety: USC, UCSD, UC Davis

My Main questions are 1) Do you think I have a chance at getting into Stanford?
2) What would be other Safety schools I should apply to?

My intended majors are either Pre-Med or Engineering, which I know, is two completely different majors.

Your advice is much appreciated.
Thanks!

No one is free to evaluate my chances?

Asian from CA, not top of class, below median scores at Stanford, no major ECs. Very big reach. Same for Harvard, Caltech, MIT.

Columbia, Dartmouth, Brown, again, rank looks low and scores are just median. Considerable reach given ORM from overrepresented state. Maybe with a truly outstanding app.

You start looking better for Cornell, JHU, CMU. Fair shot at Cornell if engineering or a & s, good at the others.

You should be in at all UCs assuming your UC weighted is 4.1 or over.

I am going to retake the SAT again. Columbia still a reach?

Yes, it would be if you were top 2% and had a 2350.

For the class of 2012, 40% of the class at Dartmouth, less competitive than Columbia, were either number 1 or 2 in their class. You are in as competitive a pool as they come, that’s where you want to be with every SAT section above the 75th percentile.

Look at the common data sets.

Here’s some stats for Brown, where less than 9% with your current CR score were admitted, and that includes the 40% of the class that has hooks:

[Brown Admission: Facts & Figures](<a href=“Undergraduate Admission | Brown University”>Undergraduate Admission | Brown University)

Ooh… Alright. Just got to hope that I can somehow write an awesome essay and hope for the best, I suppose.
Thank you very much for your analysis.

Also, any suggestions for Safeties? I’m still worried that I might not get into some of my “good chance” schools like Berkley.

Can anyone suggest good schools to apply to for Pre-Med or Engineering?
I have too many ivy’s on my list and not enough probables.
