so far my only classes i need to retake is:
Psychology
BIO (might do academic renewal)
Math 4 (planning on doing academic renewal)

so im trying to get my stuff together. even though my past grades are horrible, im expecting to get straight A's this term, possibly straight A's and 1 B. ive talked to many counselors and they have told me many different things. the last counselor that i talked to informed me of Academic renewal, for my math 4 ( im thinking about asking if i can do it for my BIO class). i guess the only time i can apply for academic renewal is in Oct. at the same time. my plan is to apply in OCT for transfer for the fall 2011 term. i also plan on taking some classes in summer (retake the psychology and take a theater arts)

i want to get into UCSB, CSU Fullerton, CSU Northridge, CSU Long Beach, CSU pomona, CSULA, or CSU dom hillz.

so pretty much my question is.. with my current grades and history..

will these schools accept me?

i did my GPA calculation:
(math 4 is taken out of my calculation because i plan on doing an AR)

straight As: 2.88
Straight As and 1 B: 2.8

after summer
Straight As 3.18
Straight As 1 B (the B from spring) 3.1

and now calculation with BIO taken out (Academic renewal)
Straight As 3.44
Straight As and 1 B (from Spring) 3.3

at the end of summer i should have 34 units completed, and i believe im suppose to apply for the schools by then? should be able to apply in OCT? for the 2011 Fall term?

thnx

BTW im a business major.

bump…

bump…

I wanted to call ■■■■■ on this one.
It just seems unreasonable that you took Gen Psych three times and failed it every single time. Your highest grade is a C in the classes that really matter.

I would suggest reevaluating your situation and then determine what works for you, be it taking a year off or going to technical school.

i was never really serious in school till now. just wanna point that out there.
like right now, ive devoted alot more time in school.
i stay home in weekends, im not missing class anymore, i got work 2 days a week now.
ive stopped plaing call of duty (lol spent alot of time on that).
im actually studying, i have to determination and the motivation now.
i just wanna know if my plan will work or not.

I’m not sure if it’s just your lack of effort that has caused this. Are you perhaps from another country? You’ve repeatedly made simple grammar mistakes throughout your posts.

but to answer your question, odds are, your plans will not work. Sorry :(

You can change. Stay at school when you do your homework, visit your teachers during their office hours, approach students doing well in the courses and ask if they will study with you. Research study skills and get tutors. But you must realize that you may fail. If you don’t think you are capable, then consider those other options. You can always go back and get a degree after you learn to be more responsible.

Either way, I think you are showing initiative and that’s where everyone starts, keep on! If you don’t get into the schools you want, that doesn’t have to stop you from learning about business or anything else. Read everything that interests you, do some self studying. You can find a lot of basic study guides online for introductory classes. It’s all up to you, take charge.

Edit: I think an upward grade trend will be looked upon favorably.

^ Great advice. That should be a summarization.

Ahahhahahhahahahahhahahahhahahahahhahahahahahahha
