Thus the unpresidented number of rejections, waitlisted candidates etc....in part also due to an overlap in the same applicant pool among similar colleges, and top applicants in search of fit over prestige.

I am currently facing a monumental debate and would love some feedback/advice…

My two options for college: Ursinus or Tufts
Ursinus offered me 30k/yr, a research internship and a chance to play soccer. I am also waiting to hear back from Drexel Medical school to see if I was accepted into the 8 year program. My majors at Ursinus would be Biology and Asian Studies.
Tufts is my dream school! However, they have given me no merit or financial aid and possibly a chance to play soccer. Tufts does have a very competitive program in which sophmore apply to Tufts Medical School based on the their freshman year. If I go there, I would probably apply to that. My majors at Tufts would be Asian Studies and Sociology.

I definitely want to go to medical school, most likely to a school that offers the 5 year MD/MPH program. I would like to highly ranked medical school, but that obviously will depend on my GPA and my MCAT scores.

Please let me know what you think! I’d like to be a little more aware of the potential pros and cons. I think they’d help me to make a more informed, and therefore better decision.

Go to Ursinus! If you want to go to med school you need to take on no debt or as little debt as possible for undergrad. Otherwise you’ll be screwed for a really long time.
