<p>Parent of a 2011 grad who did not have a job at the time of graduation. Before a year went by, however, she had a fabulous job. Lots of kids from great schools who graduated in 2011 had trouble finding work (although D did find work during the months before she got the great job … Starbucks … she’s not afraid to work for her money).</p>
<p>I think chaos has probably read my posts on Vandy. Great academics, great opportunites, blah, blah, blah. If you are bummed that you aren’t leaving Nashville, do a semester abroad. D’s semester at UEdinburgh didn’t cost us any more than we paid for a normal semester at Vandy (London would have cost more … you have to choose carefully if money is an issue). There are opportunities to do so many things. You are fortunate to be attending such a terrific school.</p>
