Curious to know what others listen to if anything.

Lately it has been:
Vivaldi, Monteverdi, Glenn Gould

Danny Elfman, James Newton Howard, Jan AP Kaczmarek

Sufjan Stevens, Jack Johnson, The Decemberists

Rap. /comment/

Personally music distracts me, but it does relive me of stress after studying for 3 straight hours. When doing that, I listen to Happa-tai, mostly to the song Yatta (hence my username)

Beirut. Yann Tierson. Sufjan Stevens. Gershwin.

Porcupine Tree, Tool, Opeth.. whatever tickles my fancy.

Techno and Trance.

peace

Techno is my favorite, sometimes it can be a little distracting though.

Tiersen*

Good composer. Goodbye Lenin is amongst my favorite scores.

Anything without lyrics ... Words distract me when I'm trying to study ._.

XDDDD That song is hilarious and terrible at the same time. The music video... I advise not watching it if you haven't already. It will most likely short-circuit all the studying you've been doing thus far.

But yeah, generally, music is a bit distracting to me. Peace and quiet is good.

Well, my sister's aquarium is in the study (where I study) so I am currently listening to the sound of its water pump or filter or something...it sounds like a mini waterfall. The waterfall noise can be either soothing or REALLY annoying; it depends what kind of mood I'm in.

As far as music goes, I am not a very discerning music enthusiast. I pretty much like it all...besides rap, that is. And -- for the most part, there are some exceptions -- I'm not a big fan of country either.
My favorite study accompaniment right now is a collection of musical music that one of my friends put together for me.

same with lucidity. words totally distract me.

so i go with post-rock. studying for AP gov over the weekend, i was all about explosions in the sky, 65daysofstatic, and a little sigur ros (even though there are words, i can't understand them so it sort of works)
