If I informed anyone wrong about the 1450, 1400 or whatever else I apologize. I thought I was reporting a matter of fact. I am glad to hear that the admission committee is more holistic though I wish they didn’t make any assessment at all regarding honors eligibility.

I am sorry if the comment is trite. I keep saying it because i think it makes a good point. I am only trying to make sure people get the right impression of a community that I truly love and I think gets misrepresented on here quite a bit.

Quiet type, I think we are on the same side on all of this so I am not sure why we are arguing. Sorry if I have been confrontational.

Our daughter received a letter this week from Pitt. Completely unsolicited and regarding the Honors college. She has what we consider a good SAT but not near the numbers you mention in this thread. It explains scholarship opportunities and that the application fee will be waived if we apply online before January 15, 2011. We live in Georgia.

We got tons of stuff from colleges (unsolicited) during the college selection process including the free applications. If your daughter has any interest in PITT, it wouldn’t hurt to apply. She might have a “hook” that PITT wants. Generally for the scholarships, you need a 1450 (cr & m) but if you have a hook then the number could be a lot lower.

I assume it will be very competitive for the scholarships as the quality of applications have increased tremendously. For my child’s high school, the numbers of students applying to PITT has increased especially since their merit scholarships are so generous.
