^ URGH. I can definitely empathize with the allergy thing. It seems sometimes that Davis, in all its pastoral glory, just has too many things that grow ;)

My relative told me his body got used to it and he stopped having allergies even though his allergies at first were pretty bad. =) Maybe it'll be the same with the rest of us.

Take some Zyrtec or Claratin.

I hope so, 'cause I have bad allergies too. x:

I've taken Zyrtec and Claritin, neither works. I ended up taking a Benadryl before class every day, and it seems to work (you work through the drowsiness).

fooshy

^^ What an endorsement of UCD!! Classes must be fascinating and reading must be really compelling to enable you to work through a benadryl haze! :)

hahaha! actually, i love this quarter-- it's probably the most interesting quarter i've had so far. it really depends on your attitude a lot-- you can make college as interesting as you want if you get internships, stay active in the community, go to parties, etc...

people that say theres nothing to do in davis think that college life will just magically come to them-- take initiative.

santa barbara's campus is basically a giant beach, which is really cool, but davis is a lot nicer environmentally with so many bikers

to the prospective gov major, davis has a ridiculously strong gov program, maybe not up there with georgetown, but im a polsci - public policy major and the prelaw concentration is pretty much amazing (the pol150-155 series)

davis has one of the strongest IR programs in the country as well.

it's hard between SB and Davis though

SB there's ALWAYS parties and such, but ive seen it happen firsthand, people get caught up in the party scene and have to drop out or transfer or take a long time gettin their priorities straight.

Davis there is a party scene for sure, and it is possible to get lost in it, but there's a lot more stuff around that will keep you in check.

I love this place, so my only complaint would stand for any other large public university --> it's kinda hard to get to know any of your professors unless you're working under them or religiously attend office hours (and for the latter, I'm not even sure how much that helps), so when it comes time for letters of recommendation, life sucks somewhat.

what i didn't live about Davis however, was the first few weeks of winter quarter, dear god, I've never seen that much rain, and I only live an hour and a half south of here
