Hi, I'm a Sophomore in Florida and we got our PSAT results back and I got a 195 (65/80 in all 3 categories), I was wondering what some people here who at least qualified for National Merit would recommend for me to do in order to bump my score up to National Merit standard. I didn't study for it, and really didn't take it seriously at all (I didn't know anything about National Merit when I took it) so I think just by studying and taking it seriously I can bump up my score by quite a bit. The only part I really didn't get was some of the vocab, is there a good PSAT vocab prep book out there? I also got some math problems wrong both of which were Geometry (my Geometry teacher freshman year was an epic fail, all she ever did was cry) so it's be great if someone can recommend a guide/book for that too. My school has gotten itself a reputation for getting lots of Merit Scholars, we had 11 National Merit Scholars last year (which was our first year as an accredited high school and our first graduating class) each of them got a full ride to colleges, one even banked like 100k on top of her full-ride because she went to UCF and another got one to Penn State. Thanks!

Practice, Practice, Practice any SAT or PSAT tests to get comfortable with testing time management. there are plenty of test prep books at your local Library. There is no sure fix. It truely is up to you.

Best to you in October 2010!
