I would like to hear from current students about their experience with department advisers in engineering, and science majors. Do they spend enough time with you to understand and address your concerns, Do they give you the right advice, do they advice you on your academic plan to help you graduate in time? Do they really serve the students and escalate issues to the department heads and resolve them. How about advisement from the various colleges.

i learned infinitely more from older students than i ever did from any school-sanctioned advice-giver.

that’s probably why i still ■■■■■ this forum :)

useless

dude just find some friends…

The advisers aren’t scientists or engineers themselves, so the most they can really do for you is tell you what classes you need specifically for that major. In engineering at least you’re also assigned a faculty adviser and they’re the ones who are really supposed to know the ins and outs of your field.
