I am a senior at a private/preparatory school in a town outside of Boston, Massachusetts. My GPA is a 3.6 UW on a 4.0 scale (the average GPA at my school is a 3.0). My counselor calculated that at my pace by the time the application goes through my GPA should increase anywhere from 3.63-3.67. I have taken 8 AP classes including 1 test I am registered to take outside of school and have all honors except for one class freshman year (this grants me a 9/10 strength of curriculum at my school, the average student takes 2 APS at St. John's). My ACTS are decent. My cumulative is a 31 with a 33 in math, a 32 in writing, a 30 in reading, and a 28 in science. My essay is ungraded right now because this is very recent. My SAT scores are a little weaker (I took them in March last year and I had a sinus infection when I took it :/). My cumulative is a 1930 with a 630 in math, a 640 in reading, and 660 in writing. I am an AP Scholar, a National Honors Society member, and an Honor roll member. As for extracurriculars, I was captain of the volleyball team, a member of varsity powerlifting, the President and founder of Investment Club, a member of Entrepreneurship Club, an editor/ writer for the school newspaper, the treasurer of outdoor club, the PR director of Model UN, homeroom representative, student ambassador, church/ school volunteer, an employee at staples, and I own and run my own small business (my school and the Cappy are my only clients). Additional information: I am a white male from a middle upperclass family, my dad didn't go to college but my mom did. I wont request financial aid. I speak both english and spanish, and I spent my spring break last year in Ecuador with my school on a service trip, speaking only spanish other then with my classmates. I have taken several week long overnight leadership programs at the military academies, fulfilled a short sales and marketing internship at EMC, and took several summer courses in Finance, CAD, and engineering at WPI and Bentley. To give you a basic idea of my essay: The day the of the bombings at the Boston Marathon, my mother and I were at the finish line, me just inside a store watching from the windows and her 20 feet from where the second bomb went off. Fortunately she didnt suffer a severe injury but she was practically incompitent immediately following the explosions and therefore I had to find her, get her out of there, and drive her to the hospital. She is perfectly ok and the following year ran the marathon in honor of the victims and then did a triathlon (her and me both) also in honor of the fallen. I think it lent a new perspective on things, coupled with my multiple trips throughout South America and my experience with a young disabled boy in Guayaquil who I would like to adopt, allow me to construct an essay that I think can help me standout.

So, any advice/ comments would be helpful plus, based on your knowledge and hopefully experience with getting in, do you think I have a chance? Btw before I go, I am retaking the SAT in 2 weeks and the ACT in a month. I took a PSAT last week and got a 2100 and a practice reading and science ACT section and got a 36 and 30 so I hope I can either achieve a higher cumulative or superscore based on how these come out. Thanks!
