What do you think for Cal, I have an interesting record...

So, my semester at Cabrillo just ended (its a community college) and I'm anticipating straight A's; it'll give me a 3.92 if thats how it turns out. However, in the spring, I had to withdraw late b/c I was layed off and needed to take a full time job, so I have W's there. Also, about 5 years ago, I had tried to go back to school after a couple year absence after HS, but withdrew, a couple of No Credits, and I stopped going to a open enrollment summer course at UCSC, which went from an Incomplete to an F. Since they don't offer it anymore, thats on my record permanently. This was from a time when I was a drug addict, and living in my car, but since I got sober, my grades have been solid (thats where the 3.92 comes in). So, I explained all this in my personal statement in application for FA '11, and I also have some community service, involvement in AGS, and 12 step groups, that I mentioned. I only applied to Berkeley, UCLA, and UCSD, and San Diego is clinched with the transfer admission guarantee program, but Cal is where I want to go. Oh yeah, my major is Political Science.

So, what do you think? That F in 2005 from UCSC drops me down significantly, but the change from then is like night and day. Will they take this improvement into consideration? I think the UCSC transcript notes that F was from an incomplete; its not like I was a bad student, I just stopped going and neglected to drop.

yeah, I think you make a good point by explaining it on your personal statement. Also they look at grade trends so from zero to 3.92 is pretty impressive, so there they got the evidence.
