ok, so i really dig USC. im thinking about whether or not i want to apply early there, and i was wondering if my score of 31 on the act is a strong enough score to warrant me going for the school so early? i could retake the act for a higher score and apply regular decision...so..i dont know. my UW gpa is 3.92 (weighted about 4.2), and i have all the trimmings of a strong candidate. im just wondering if it's worth it to go for it early. thanks.

Are you considering the resident honors program or normal admission? If normal admission, the first deadline is for scholarship applicants, and the second is for everyone.

i'm a senior, so yeah, i'm considering normal admission

another question (other than my first one): if you apply on the dec. 10th date, will usc look at your end of semester grades or mid-semester grades? i'd hope that they take senior grades into consideration.

i thought usc didnt have any early program only regular...

thats right... there is no "early decision" or "early action" at usc.
there IS, however, the scholarship deadline, which is about a month earlier than the absolute application deadline.

and if you wanna talk about early, there's RHP which is a whole different matter.

ok...new question. is the 31 i have a strong enough score for the scholarships?

hmm... possibly. i had 33 and was invited to interview for presidential.

i had a 32 and was invited to interview for trustee

According to some people on this forum, the ACT/SAT score is not that important (obviously, you need to be within a certain range). Apparently, the essay is very important, as are your ECs.

EDIT: We had a thread about that a while ago. Just search the forum, it was like 2 months ago.
