What do you think is better? I need honest answers...

I just found out today that I got into the University of Maryland which really sucks because now I have to choose between that one and Umich, the problem is the money, Maryland costs much less that Michigan so my question is, do you think it'd be good to turn down Michigan over Maryland because of the cost? or do you think Michigan is way better? I didn't get financial help in any of the two.

It never sucks to get into a university. It always gives you an option that you wouldn't have if you weren't admitted.

Maryland is a good school, and you'd be paying about 6-7K less at Maryland than you would be at UMich.

I'd say it depends on your strength in the UG major, and if you have plans on graduate school. Because if you want to get a masters, your bachelor's is pretty much useless, just something that will get you into grad school, and there isn't a gigantic difference that Michigan's degree will get you there than Maryland's degree.

I guess it depends on what major you're planning on. I'm from Maryland, and i would have paid MD tuition(scholars program also)...but i was still going to choose UMich over UMD(ended up choosing neither) because it is a much better school in general terms. If Maryland is ranked the same, or close to the same as UM in the program you want, than go to MD and save the money. If the program is ranked much higher at UMich, then go to Mich.

Ampeju, if you got no aid from either, I cannot see how Michigan is "much" more expensive. Michigan, full cost, is $38,000/year. Maryland, full cost, is $30,000. Both are expensive if you ask me, but if you are going to pay that much money, go for Michigan because it really isa clearly better university.

Well I want to go to med school on the long run so i'm gonna do my bachelor's in biology, do you know where i could find how the biology program ranks at both these schools?

Anpeju, with the exception of very few majors (Physics comes to mind), Michigan is better than Maryland. In Biology, Michigan is ranked among the top 20 and Maryland isn't ranked among the top 50. But that's for graduate studies. There aren't undergraduate rankings of Biology departments. One thing to consider however is that Michigan has a top 10 Medical school, a top 10 hospital and a huge research budget. Undergrads have a multitude of opportunities in that regard.
