What do you think my chances are....? Be honest.

<p>Okay, so I am a high school sophomore right now and I've made up my mind that I want to go to Columbia University (more than likely apply early decision).... Anyway, what do you think my chances are of getting into Columbia??? (btw, I want to major in Creative Writing) Also, I am African American if that helps.</p>

<p>Grades:
Right now my cumulative GPA is between a 95/96 on a 100 point scale.
On the PSATs (haven't taken the SATs yet....) I got a 59 in critical reading, 58 in writing, and 52 in math</p>

<p>Anyway...What do you think my chances are???? Any help, recommendations!? Also, what do you think are some things I could/should do in order to make me stand out from other people, such as certain extra curriculars/sports/additional languages I should take up and etc.???</p>

<p>You aren’t taking the most rigorous schedule possible–not enough APs and way too many Honors. You’re also behind–geometry in sophomore year? I took that in eighth grade. The scores you get on AP exams is also important. And your SAT scores are low. 590 critical reading and you want to major in Creative Writing? Although you may be involved in sports, your extra curriculars and community service are nothing special. And your HPA isn’t high. What about class rank?</p>
