Did you apply ED2 or RD? Your SAT score could certainly pose a problem. Did you take the ACT? Also, I don’t think your ECs are exceptional for Vanderbilt’s standard. Having said that, I think you still have a chance! How were your essays and LOR?

Yes, I know. I wish I had done more throughout my high school career but there’s nothing I can do at this point

And the ACT is definitely not for me, since I have a serious issue with the ridiculous time limits. The SAT is definitely more my kind of test, lol.

Actually, I am taking a gap year, so I’m going to apply ED 1 next year. Perhaps I could take the SAT again and this time I’ll shoot for a 2100+, but I’m not sure.

I can write a killer essay. How much will that help my chances? Thank you!

the act cutoff this ED was about a 32 give or take a couple ECs. that’s about a 1420 or so. being in the top 25% isn’t going to help.

basically, Vandy has become an Ivy as far as acceptances go. A lot can happen between now and next fall’s ED, but Vandy is only going to get tougher to get into while your GPA won’t change. To give yourself a chance, you should study for the SAT like crazy and raise your CR+M to 1500 to give yourself a stronger chance.

Thank you for your input.

I know this is early but, bump please! It means so much to me.
