To start off I just want to say that I am just looking for another opinion other than my friends and family… and I know myself that my chances are slim to none, but I just need to hear it from an outside source. I have applied to NYU, Gettysburg College, Suffolk University, University of Vermont and ED 2 at Tufts University. (already getting into Suffolk and UVM)
I live and attend a very small public school in Mid-Michigan.
GPA: 3.92 (will go up after this semester)
Rank:8/112
SAT: 1040 (lol I know that’s super bad)
AP classes:
AP language
AP Literature
AP Calculus
AP Government
(Also keep in mind my school offers only 5 AP courses)
Along with those classes I have taken 2 years of German at a local community college along with a college Psychology class. Also the hardest regular classes my school offers such as physics.
Extracurricular activities:
Caption of the golf team and member of the team all four years in which we have received Academic All-State
Member of the Varsity soccer team
Member and Clarinet Section Leader in the Marching and Symphonic band
Member of NHS
Historian of the BPA chapter, which has started a local cloths closet
Member of the Science Olympiad team, which has made it to States four years, and where I have placed in an event at States
I also would like to note that I got some pretty bomb recommendation letters, and my common app essays where not too shabby either.
I know that Tufts is an extreme reach for me but some honest opinions from other people would be nice to hear. Thanks for your help during a stressful time!
