Hey link:

Not alot of pre-pharms on this forum so I’ll give it a shot.

Your grades/courses might be okay but you’ll need to pull up CR and Writing SAT score for acceptance into most of the pre-pharm programs, especially the 0-6 programs like ACP and MCP. Try to get them into the 550-600 range if you can. You can find alot more info and discussion about Pharm D programs at [Student Doctor Network Forums](http://■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■/)

Also, you do realize that most pre-pharm programs are not going to want to grant AP credits for sciences and, even if they will, it’s not in your best interest to accept them. If your school offers another Bio you might consider taking that and spend the extra time on the other AP’s to improve your grades.

An IT internship? No community service? Can you arrange to intern with or at least shadow a pharmacist? Pharmacists are health care professionals, generally with a significant degree of patient interaction. I’m sure these schools would like to see some committment to helping people and a demonstrated interest in the profession would probably be helpful too (and maybe give you a good essay topic!).

Just my 2 cents…we have 2 pharmacists in the family and my DD is looking at ACP, MCP, and St John’s as well!

Good luck!

Hiya sk8rmom,

Unfortunately, i go to a magnet school solely devoted to computers. (I only went because its alot better than my town’s public high school. The only internships they offer is a technology one. I was hoping that my many AP science courses and math courses would shadow the pharmacist road.

My CR and Writing is low but hopefully ill raise them to acceptable range in my next two sat test dates.

As for community service, I alter served for the past 7 years and I also do the school sponsored fundraisers. I didn’t mention because i figured they weren’t important because they weren’t really medical related, like volunteering in a hospital and such.

I think I’m going to take your 2 cents and check out the Student Doctor Network Forums, Thanks :)

Thanks for your advice :)
