Have some community service, but mostly school involvement

Numerous school awards for outstanding academics
Part of CTY - John Hopkins

Which school school? (SFS, COL, MSB, or NHS)

Also keep in mind that these days when you send SAT IIs, you’re SAT scores get sent too.

I believe the basic school. She wants to study science but not nursing.

so College… solid chances I say and definitely demonstrated interest in sciences… how’s your D’s school relationship with Georgetown been in the past? (i.e. how many kids get in a year, and in the past year)

definitly stand a good shot. Your stats are plenty competetive, and EC’s aren’t bad. Write good essays and she should be fine. It would be nice however, to have a bit more leadership. Luckily, going into Senior year, yourD should see some positions opening up; make sure to take advantage of them.

Would you recommend applying EA?

sure, why not. Worst that happens is you’re deferred to the regular round.

Well it depends, Georgetown is known for being a bit more selective with early action (due to the non-binding nature), but if it’s her top choice, def apply and show interest.

Do demographics hurt or help? D is a white female from So cal.

white=hurt
female=hurt
California=hurt

the comment above=hurt

Really - that bad - why?
No one wants to go east from CA. Most kids want CA - UCB, UCSD, UCLA, USC Stanford. None of my kids that we know want east coast.

No as long as you’re not from Jersey, you’re fine.

hey im from jersey lol

Don’t get me wrong, I like Jersey people just fine, just that there are loads of them here, Jersey and Penn

i’m from jersey and i’m going to georgetown! :(

MD right here

i am from nj as well and i want to go to gtown

back to the point, i think she has a good chance

Does anyone know if it’s harder to get into Nursing at Georgetown than the liberal arts ?
