what do you think my transfer chances are?

Hello guys!

I am an international student studying in United States and i would like to ask a question about my transfer application which will begin this december.

well i want to transfer to UCHICAGO, Northwestern or Cornell!

Here are my statistics:

Current GPA 4.0
Courses taken: intermediate economics, math statistics, politics, seminar and english.
activity list: vice president of SGA, school senator-at large, activity leader for poverty cases, also fundraiser for Kiva.
Essays are my main strength and i have a strong desire to transfer, mainly academics.
My only really worse thing is ACT which is 24. what are my chances for cornell and northwestern? How much does this very bad ACT count. I have difficulties in test taking coz i am international and i took it only once . please please guys let me know ur honest opinion.

Thank you, Mat

I think your best shot is UChicago if you say your essays are your biggest strength (as they do seem to love the essays).

but even if your essays are fabulous a 24 ACT score is really low, the median at UChicago hovers around a 30. i’d still say it’s worth a shot, though!

But i am a transfer student! i thought that act is not that really important given that i take intermediate courses with straight As and also leadership positions. :frowning: i really don’t know how can i do good in act i took it only once and i want to take it again. it is just that i am really bad at testing . i dont know if i can go above 24

Welcome to the plight of a large number of US highschool seniors.
