They have fossils in Montana.

Do they serve hamburgers there?

I’ve heard that Montana has many trees and hills. There are also many rocks to be found in Montana. Animals are often seen outside in Montana.

Indeed they do.

I find the common perceptions of Montana to be amusing actually, but they are correct.

jeeze… yes there are Mountains horses and such but Bozmen is mostly rolling hills area if you head west you’ll hit the rockies…

montana is one of those states i forget exist. i have the same picture that a lot of the other posters mentioned, hills and animals.

That stereotype is correct in many instances.

I’m sure it’s beautiful and the people are friendly, but depending on what sort of career interests you, Montana may not be the best place to find internships and build relationships.

when i think of montana the following things come to mind: rednecks, incest, trailers, ignorance, and accents that make the speaker sound mildly autistic.

Best of luck applying!

… you’re kidding right?

Jeeze damn, the ignorence here is friggen amazing.

Clearly he’s joking. Lighten up.
By the way, “ignorence” is not a word.

That is true; I would certainly find it difficult to advance one’s career to a substantial extent as a professional person.

There actually is a fair amount of inbreeding and poverty in some pastoral locations but that surely isn’t exclusive to Montana.

I’ve never been to Bozeman though I’ve heard wonderfull things the town about and MSU.
Have you considered the University of Montana in Missoula? I just got back from visiting there and it was amazing! The town and campus were really vibrant and beautiful.

I don’t know much about MSU… I know TONS about UM, however. PM me.

lol when i saw the title i thought u were asking about what people thought about Hannah Montana.

Yes, I toured there about two years ago although I had no interest in applying.

Missoula isn’t the best town to live in imo

I wouldn’t wish to reside there either. I enjoy larger metropolitan areas.

I was born in Montana. I’m going to UMT in Missoula though and I agree that job prospects here are not good. The winters are cold, but the summers are hot. I’m not sure if the cow myth is true, but Montanans are more like Texans, NOT hillbillies. That’s Tenesee.

Just catching up on random threads. I have family in Bozeman and a relative that teaches at MSU, so I’ve been there several times. If you like the outdoors (summer hiking, tubing, fishing, running, biking, climbing, etc) and can enjoy the opportunities in the Winter (Skiing, nordic, biathlon, sledding, etc.), the location is amazing. If you are from the East, make sure you include travel and airfare in your expense budget because you can’t drive there quickly, so will need to budget plane tickets. The city of Bozeman is unique and interesting … some compare it to Burlington, Vermont, or Boulder, Colorado. The school of MSU is a solid state school and a terrific bargain.
