I'm a clean-cut, incoming junior. I don't want to sound arrogant, but I'm a pretty smart guy. Unfortunately my grades wouldn't attest to that. I have a pretty poor GPA, sitting at a 2.7.. my main problem is an apathetic approach to some courses that I just don't care about, whether that is because of the actual subject matter or I just don't like the way the teacher presents the course, the fact remains that it is killing me.

I'm incredibly interested in politics and government, as well as history, english, and journalism, but not much else. I take pretty difficult courses. I've been in honors english since freshman year and am going into AP English Language Comp. next year (as well as AP European History and AP Government). I'm certain I got a 5 on the AP US History test, the result of which I will learn on Friday.

Still, I have a pretty poor GPA and I think that will definitely weigh me down. On the old SAT, I would probably have scored anywhere from around 1150-1200. Unfortunately, I really cannot remember what my PSAT score was.

Also, I go to a highly respected high school, where grades are not inflated.

Anyway, I live in Ohio and I'm interested in knowing what you think my chances are of getting into Temple University (in Philadelphia), Ohio University, Indiana, Purdue, American, Ohio State (I live in Columbus.. if that matters), Xavier, Vermont, and UCONN.

That might sound like a pretty random list, but I have looked into those schools and like what I've seen/heard.

Thanks for your help.
