<p>Thayer academy? i havent heard it mentioned on this site, and i am going there next year so i wanted to know what people from different schools thought of it.</p>
<p>I am not familiar with thayer but posting so it can bump up and maybe someone else has…</p>
<p>Thayer is a wonderful ISL school with a strong sense of community and a very happy, relaxed atmosphere that the kids who go there seem to really love. There is a wider range of academic ability at Thayer than you’ll find at the most elite ISL’s, but there are plenty of AP courses and incredibly bright kids there if you want to ramp it up. This forum tends to focus on the elite boarding schools, which leaves many of the ISL day schools like Thayer out of the loop.</p>
<p>Kids I know who go to Thayer like it, but pretty much everyone else thinks of it as the most expensive public school out there. Academically, it just isn’t even near other private schools. When I started at my private school Thayer was viewed as the “athlete” school but now they don’t even have a good sports program. Besides their track team, every other team is mediocre.</p>
<p>does anyone else think anything about it?</p>
