So I applied to Harvard, however both my SAT and ACT scores are extremely low. I have an explanation though. During the time period i was taking these tests there have been serious family issues, which most likely led to such low scores. Then around the same time i missed my SAT subject test, which was the last one i can do, due to a death in a family. My GPA is a 3.7. But i have been involved in my community quite a bit.
I have started an African United Club at my school,
started a Debate team,
Senior class Treasurer,
Vice-president of the Environmental club,
Secretary of the Abu-bakr Mosque in Tukwila Washington,
Business Manager of the Robotics club,
Tutor/ Translator at the Somali Community center, helped fill out housing, job, and welfare applications for those who are refugees, and a translator for Arab speaking individuals at the Seattle Social services center,
Doing a campaign for HIV, and likewise have created my own protocol on a possible treatment for those with the disease, and those who can potentially get it.
What are my chances.

Can you retake your SAT and ACT?
Otherwise its almost impossible to get in.
SHAHREZ

The ones I took where the last ones I can take, according to this one dude who told me the last time you can possibly retake the tests is january!
Also, my interviewer told me I have included all the family hardships, and your family background information in my rec letter to them.

The family hardships should help explain your scores to the admissions committee. As for the tests, I would suggest calling the admissions office to talk to them and see if there is anything you can do about testing. I wish you the best. :)

Ok, thanks jgedwards, I will do that this monday. Because i have been on the collegboard website, and saw that there was an upcoming test in the middle of march. I want to register but do not know if they will accept those scores do to late reply!
