<p>Virginia Tech, William and Mary, UVA chances</p>

<p>I'm a rising senior and I'm planning on applying to these three schools. I'm most concerned for UVA as that is my number 1 choice school.</p>

<p>GPA: 4.14 (on 4.0 scale)
SAT: 2040 combined (710 math, 690 writing, 640 reading)
SAT II: Math level 2 - 600, planning on taking Bio in October
AP Scores: World History - 3, Calculus - 3, Biology - 4, Psychology - 4</p>

<p>Not positive of class rank but definitely in top 15%</p>

<p>Taken all honors courses with some APs and planning on taking 4 APs (Chem, BC, Stat, Lang) next year along with all honors classes.</p>

<p>Extracurriculars: Varsity football - 2yrs (defensive captain - 1yr), National Honor Society - 1yr (only offered jr/sr yr but will be in it next yr), Science National Honor Society - 3 yrs, Math Honor Society - 2 yrs, Spanish Club member, Multicultural Association member, Academic Team member, FBLA member - 3yrs</p>

<p>Work experience: Kumon Math and Reading Center - 4yrs</p>

<p>Volunteer: various programs through church, Shoes for Souls, bagging lunch for needy in DC, working with Claude Moore Community Builders (100hrs), YMCA Summer Camps, tutor program through school on Saturdays (throughout school year - 20+ hours)</p>

<p>Instruments: played guitar for 3yrs (lessons and through school), piano for 7 years</p>

<p>I have 2 teachers who I'm really close with that will probably write great recommendations</p>

<p>What do you think my chances are of getting into Virginia Tech, William and Mary and UVA?</p>

<p>I believe you have the greatest chance to get into VT, then William & Mary, finally UVA. I see you have no problems getting admitted to either of those three.</p>

<p>Thanks for the help… and also do you have any suggestions as to what I can do to better my chances of getting into UVA? (for anybody)</p>

<p>Start a project for science fair. Try to participate to a contest until the admission, write in the essay about education, university and your project.</p>

<p>Thanks I also forgot to mention that at a regional science fair I placed 3rd overall in my category. I’ll try looking into more science fairs as I want to major in Kinesiology/Health Sciences</p>
